Privacy Policy

Your information, your choices. How we use and protect personal data when you find a shop, request a price or arrange a repair.

Updated 8 October 2026Customer version 2026-10-08

At a glance

A quick guide. Please read the full details below.

Only for a clear purpose

We use information to run your account, support repairs and keep the platform secure.

Shared where needed

The shop handling your request receives the details needed to respond and provide its service.

You have choices

Ask us about access, corrections, account closure or eligible deletion.

01Who this notice covers

This notice covers the FixCron customer website, accounts, shop discovery, price requests, bookings, messages, repair records and customer support. The platform operator and contact details appear at the end of this page.

Repair shops are independent businesses. A shop is responsible for how it uses information for its own diagnosis, repairs, invoices and warranty obligations. FixCron provides the platform and processes information to operate and protect that service. Separate technician terms and app notices apply to the technician workspace.

02Information we collect and where it comes from

We receive information you submit, information a shop or authorised person records about your repair, and technical information generated when you use the website.

  • Account and contact details: your name, username, email, phone number, profile details and account preferences, where provided.
  • Repair activity: selected device and services, symptoms, quotes, booking details, chat messages, attachments, agreements, invoices, repair status and warranty or support history. A shop may record a device identifier such as IMEI where relevant.
  • Payment records: amounts, payment method, receipt references and confirmation status recorded for your repair. These records are not a FixCron wallet balance.
  • Location and technical data: an area or address you select, permitted device coordinates, IP address, browser/device information, session data and security logs.
  • Reviews, saved shops, support enquiries and communication preferences when you use those features.

03Signing in with Google

If Continue with Google is available and you choose it, Google provides a unique account identifier and the basic profile information you authorise, such as name, email, email-verification status and profile picture. We use this to create or identify your FixCron account and authenticate your sign-in.

This sign-in does not give FixCron your Google password or access to your Gmail messages, contacts or Google Drive files. A Google sign-in does not verify your phone number.

You can manage or revoke the connection in your Google Account. Revoking Google access does not by itself delete your FixCron account or repair records. Contact us if you need help retaining access or closing your account.

This notice describes Google sign-in when offered; it does not mean that Facebook, Apple or other sign-in providers are currently available.

04Location, maps and nearby shops

You can search using a town, postcode or address. Device location is requested when you choose the current-location option and requires browser permission. Denying GPS access still allows you to enter an area manually.

Google Maps/Places may receive your search text, address or coordinates and technical request information when suggestions, a map or a map preview load. An address entered manually can still be sent to Google when these features use it.

When approximate-area suggestions are enabled and the location picker opens, your browser contacts DB-IP over HTTPS. DB-IP receives your connection IP to estimate a city or state; this feature does not send account details, search text or GPS. The estimate can be wrong, especially with a VPN, and is used for your search only after you confirm it. The area name and country may be cached in the browser tab for up to one hour; this feature does not store the raw IP or full provider response.

05How and why we use information

We use information to provide the service you request: maintain your account, find shops, deliver requests and messages, manage bookings and documents, answer support enquiries and protect against unauthorised use. We also retain relevant records to meet legal obligations and handle disputes.

We seek consent where required. Some processing is necessary to fulfil your request or contract or meet applicable legal obligations. Optional marketing choices are separate from essential account, security and repair communications.

Information needed for a particular action is identified in that flow. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to create an account, contact you or complete the requested booking. Optional notes and attachments can be left out. Avoid sending unrelated sensitive information, passwords or OTPs in chat.

06Who receives information

We share relevant request, contact and repair details with the shop you choose and its authorised staff. Public shop reviews may display your review and the customer name shown by the review feature. Private messages and repair documents are not intended for public browsing.

Hosting, storage, email, authentication, maps and security providers process information needed to deliver their services. We may also disclose relevant records to professional advisers or authorities when lawfully required, or to handle a claim or security incident. We do not sell your personal data.

Some service providers process data outside Malaysia. Applicable transfer safeguards, provider arrangements and access controls are considered before using those services. Providers may also process service data under their own privacy policies; the relevant Google and DB-IP links are provided above.

07Repair payments and records

Repair payments currently take place directly with the shop. FixCron does not collect or hold your repair payment through an online payment gateway or customer/technician wallet in this flow.

Where payment reporting is available, a customer’s payment report and a shop’s receipt confirmation are separate records. Reporting payment is not proof that the shop has received it. We use the recorded amount, method, reference and confirmation history to show payment status and assist with enquiries.

If online payments are introduced later, the applicable provider, information sharing and terms will be presented before you choose that payment method.

08Cookies and browser storage

We use necessary cookies and browser storage for sign-in, sessions, security, language and choices needed by the website. Disabling necessary cookies can prevent sign-in or disrupt a booking.

Optional analytics or marketing technologies, if introduced, will be explained and subject to the choices or consent required for them. This notice does not authorise unrelated advertising tracking.

09Retention and security

We retain information for as long as it is needed for your account and service, repair and warranty records, disputes, security, applicable accounting or legal obligations and controlled backups. Retention depends on the record and purpose; closing an account does not erase every invoice, shop record or backup immediately.

When information is no longer needed, it is deleted, anonymised or securely isolated as appropriate. Legal holds and dependencies between records may delay deletion. A shop may have its own lawful retention obligations.

We use measures such as access controls, password hashing, secure transport, audit records and backups. No system can guarantee absolute security. Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

10Your choices and requests

Subject to applicable Malaysian data protection law and lawful exceptions, you may request access, correction, information about use or disclosure, withdrawal of consent, cessation of direct marketing, and account closure or eligible deletion. You may also ask about data portability where applicable.

Email the contact below with the request and the email associated with your account. Do not send your password or OTP. We may ask for proportionate proof of identity or authority before releasing information or acting on the request.

We will explain any information we must retain and any service limitation caused by withdrawing necessary permission. For data held independently by a repair shop, you may also need to contact that shop. You can raise a concern with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Commissioner.

11Age, other people’s data and updates

Customer accounts are intended for people aged 18 or above. A parent or guardian should arrange a repair for a minor. Submit another person’s information only where you have the appropriate authority and it is relevant to the repair.

We update this notice when our service or data practices change. The version date identifies this notice; material changes will be communicated as appropriate. English and Bahasa Melayu versions are intended to have the same meaning. Statutory rights remain applicable.
